Built of sawed glass (sawed by the very patient folks at Adams & Chittenden Scientific Glass, who went through a whole stinkin' box of these trying to get two that didn't shatter) plus synthetic fleece, copper and aluminum wire. The red stuff is fx flocking from Douglass & Sturgess in Richmond.

The trick was hammering in the copper BEFOREHAND, because after the glass was epoxied onto the base, they were prone to shatter from the vibrations of the hammer. I actually built and destroyed a really beautiful cornflower blue version of this for my wonderful friends Adam and Shannon while learning this lesson. I'll post a picture when I can muster the will to look at it again ... it was a terrible shame. And I don't wanna talk about it anymore *sniff*
Wow cool. What is it? A 2d sculpture? It's obviously not a pillow with the fragile bits, but it looks fluffy in parts. I like the contrast.
